About Chipping Norton Town Council

Chipping Norton Town Council has sixteen Town Councillors, one of them being the Town Mayor. Town Councillors are in post for a four year term. .

Chipping Norton Town Council are responsible for the Town Hall, the War Memorial (London Road), the Closed Churchyard at St. Marys Church (Church Street), the Worcester Road Cemetery. Four  recreation grounds in the town. Pool Meadow, Greystones recreation grounds.

The Town Council have the following committee meetings to cover the areas which they are responsible for:

  • ​​Finance & Resources
  • ​​Community
  • Strategic Planning​​

The Town Council holds six committee cycles a year. You can find our calendar of meetings here:

Anyone wishing to attend the meetings are welcome to sit at the back of the room to listen, they will not be able to take part in discussion at the meeting.

Residents who wish to speak may do about a matter on a Council or Committee agenda will be able to do so during the Public Participation session. It is helpful if you can let the Town Clerk know in advance of the meeting that you wish to speak at. The Chair will determine how many people may speak under ‘Public Participation’ on the agenda.
